The travel company will still be accepting online bookings and manual registration delivered through Mr. Clarke until Friday, November 26th.

Bake Sale This Saturday
Don't forget that the bake sale is this Saturday starting at 8:00.
All baking can be brought to the school any time Friday between 8:00 and 3:30 and left in the front office with the secretaries or it can be brought to the school on Sat. at 8:00 so it can be priced and prepared for sale!
Remember the more you BAKE the more money you MAKE!

New York City Trip Registration
Registration for our Band Trip to New York City is currently underway!!!!
You have two options for registering:
1. You can register with a credit card online by clicking HERE
2. You can fill out the forms found outside of the music room, attached three post dated cheques and return them to Mr. Clarke
The payment schedule for the trip is as follows:
First Deposit of $200.00 + optional insurance ($75) Monday, Nov. 15th
Second Deposit of $300.00 Friday, January 14th
Final Deposit of $324.00 Tuesday, March 15th
Please note that the final payment amount is likely to change due to fundraising.

Trip Meeting for Parents and Students
There will be an information meeting for both students and parents on November 4 at 7:00 in the music room. Mike Daley from BrightSpark student travel will take everyone through an itinerary, talk about insurance and answer any questions or concerns that anyone might have.
If you haven't picked up a form with the price and payment schedule it is posted outside of the music room. You have an option of electronic registration or manually with the school.

Sectional Rehearsals
We will be starting sectional rehearsals this week. This means that regular band rehearsals will run from 3:30 until 4:40 and then the remaining time will be spent with Mr. Clarke working with individual sections. Below is a schedule of when each section will be rehearsing later.
SECTIONAL REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Oct. 26 - Clarinets
Nov. 2 - Saxophones
Nov. 9 - Percussion
Nov. 16 - Flutes
Nov. 23 - Trumpets
Nov. 30 - Baritones, Trombones and Bass Clarinet
Dec. 7 - FULL REHEARSAL
If you miss a sectional rehearsal for your instrument it will count as missing two rehearsals....one for the rehearsal and one for the sectional.

Bake Sale

Fruit and cookie dough fundraising forms are ready for pickup outside of the music room. All of the fundraised money will go to the individual student who sells the product. Below are some important dates if you are going to be taking part.
Last day to submit orders and money - Tuesday, Nov. 30
Pick up day - Tuesday, Dec. 14

Band Sweaters
Everyone loves them!!!!! I mean who doesn't love white and red sweaters!
If you are new to band this year you must purchase a band sweater for the band uniform. New sweaters cost $35 and slightly used ones can be purchased from Mr. Clarke for $10
Mr. Clarke will be collecting money for sweaters starting this Tuesday, September 21 at our first rehearsal. Cheques can be made out to: Acton High School.

Rehearsals Until Exams
There will be no Jazz Band rehearsals until after exams. There is a concertband rehearsal on Jan. 5 and12. Rehearsals will then be suspended until after exams.
